Our Library

The library is a bright and cheerful space, which is well used by students both during class times and at breaks. We have a wide selection of books, which is constantly being updated with new titles. The library also contains a computer suite of 18 computers plus additional laptops available for students to use. At lunchtime and interval we also have chess sets available, which are very popular.

We have three staff members and a team of around 15 student librarians, all ready to help you find the perfect book.

We love our library!

Overdue Books

Students, Please return all your overdue books before the end of the year. This important because we need all the books back for stocktake.

Year 9 Book Club Begins!

  • Dates: 10 – 11 May, 2016
Today we held the first meeting of the new Year 9 Book Club. 24 girls enjoyed hot chocolate and snacks before school, whilst browsing the shelves. They were allowed exclusive access to the newest books in the library and were able to take out books which have not even made it onto the shelves yet. We are all looking forward to the next meeting when we will discuss what everyone thought of the books they read.

Here are some pictures from this morning...

Book Review Winner Term 2

The Fault in our Stars
The Fault in our Stars is about a teenage girl who has been diagnosed with lung cancer and attends a cancer support group.

Hazel Grace is a sixteen year old teenager and is reluctant to attend the support group. Who would have thought? I mean, rebellious much? But soon she realises that going to the support group isn’t all bad after all. Hazel meets a boy her age, his name is Augustus Waters, he’s charming and witty. Augustus has osteosarcoma, a rare bone cancer but Augustus has recently had the all clear.

Hazel and Augustus embark on a rollercoaster ride of emotions, including love, sadness and romance, while searching for the author of their favourite book. They travel to Amsterdam in search of Peter Van Houten, the author of “An Imperial Affliction”. While on their trip Augustus breaks some heart breaking news to Hazel, which leads both their worlds to fall apart around them.

If you enjoy young adult books full of witty humour and heart breaking events, then this books is perfect for you. Expect to laugh, cry and smile throughout this masterpiece by the amazing John Green. I highly recommend this book.
