About Edgewater College

Edgewater College is a multicultural secondary school and considered one of the smaller colleges in the city which makes us very unique. We have approximately 650 students, 13-18 years old who attend annually. Our staff are caring and committed to helping students achieve academically. We encourage and prepare students for future career, university or tertiary education choices that they will need to make.

We have a well maintained site with ongoing upgrades meeting the needs for learners of today and for the future. Our special facilities include; a full music suite including recording studios and instruments, a modern library, specifically equipped classrooms for teaching hospitality, textile and materials technology along with well resourced computer and science facilities. We have spacious, well groomed sports facilities with all-weather sports fields, Astroturf courts and two newly refurbished gymnasiums with weight training areas.

We take extreme care with choosing the most suitable homestay placements for our students and pride ourselves on getting that right. We understand that the home environment makes a huge difference to the settling in process for any student and also the peace of mind that it provides for the parents to know that their son or daughter is being looked after and treated well.

Edgewater College is situated in Pakuranga, a well positioned suburb in East Auckland, New Zealand's largest city. Edgewater College is a 30 minute drive from the central city area and Auckland International Airport. Pakuranga is well connected to the wider Auckland area through a public transport system which includes buses, trains and harbour ferry services. Students have just a 15 minute walk or short bus ride to enjoy shopping centres (Botany & Sylvia Park), movie theatres, pool and sport complexes, beautiful beaches, cafes and restaurants.

Auckland is the 'central city' of New Zealand although not geographically!!

Auckland has the 'Airport Hub' of New Zealand with daily flights connecting people efficiently and affordably around the country. We are proud to have a beautiful harbour in New Zealand where an extensive ferry service operates daily into the central city area and takes passengers to the small outer islands (Waiheke, Rangitoto and Great Barrier) where sight-seeing is encouraged. Pakuranga is also nicely positioned with just a 50 minute drive to the rugged west coast where surf beaches and tramping tracks are abundant. Auckland really does have it all!

We look forward to you choosing Edgewater College as your preferred school and will welcome you.
